Whether you wish to exercise for health, weight maintenance or sport specific reasons or are looking for exercise therapies to help with various health issues, we offer one to one coaching at our studio, in house or on Zoom.
Depending on your requirements and after the completion of your health questionnaire, you will be guided through your first session. The specific needs of the client will be met by using different forms of exercise with stationary and functional equipment.
The structure of a session is pretty simple (gentle warm-up, exercise routine followed by stretching) but the content is designed to suit the individuals natural abilities to avoid overtraining and implicitly over-stressing, hence the name therapy.
We like to use what is called The Flow Method on each of your workouts.
By giving your workout a rating of 1 to 10 with 1 being the gentlest and 10 being the most difficult of perceived effort, we aim for most sessions to be in the range of 6 to 8.
1 to 5 will maintain your current level of fitness or prepare you for a more demanding workout later. By being in the range of 6 to 8 which will make you feel comfortably uncomfortable, you will then start to see progress.
Only when your fitness has improved and your health or specific injuries have healed, will you be occasionally allowed to approach level 9 or 10.
Throughout the sessions you will be shown how to perform each exercise correctly, moreover why it has been chosen for you and the benefits it brings to your body. This will sharpen your mental focus and increase motivation.
You will also learn how to make use of your breath during the workouts to enhance awareness and raise your energy levels.
